Dual Core Laptops

Multi-tasking is a very important part of modern computer use and having a dual core laptops means that the laptop can process twice as much information at the same time.

A dual core laptop has two processors and so can process two different sets of data at the same time. Modern processors are very fast though and so a dual core setup is only necessary if you are running demanding applications. If you are for example running two software applications then each can have it's own processor working on the data (as well as any other small processes that are also running) and so it makes the laptop much faster if you are running more than one demanding application.

If however you are only running simple software such as a web browser or word processor then you are not going to need a dual core laptop and you will be fine with any laptop including the cheap laptops.

The dual core laptops do cost more than the single core laptops but they are much more powerful and therefore worth the extra money if you need that power.
